Letter to Parents

September 2009

Dear Parent,

Thank you for being interested enough to come to this website and for your trust in teaching your children.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is Rick Clee and I will be your child's mathematics teacher this year. My degrees are a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Mathematics and a Master of Library Science from Kutztown University.

I believe that mathematics is a subject that all people can understand and apply. Math is traditionally viewed as a challenging subject, and I will not deny that it can be difficult at times. However, it can be interesting, useful, and fun as well. I try to find a balance between concepts and computations so that all students gain a balance of skills, knowledge, and understanding.

Parents can make a significant and lasting contribution toward the education of their children. A good learning experience is built upon a cooperative effort between student, parent, and teacher. It is for this reason that I hope to maintain open lines of communication with you. You are invited and encouraged to contact me any time that you have a question concerning the progress of your child. It is my hope that you will advise me if at any time your child has a problem that you think I should know about. Through our joint efforts, I am confident that we can find a feasible solution to most situations.

I consider it a great privilege and responsibility to be teaching your child, and look forward to working with you toward his or her success.

Sincerely,
